The dialogue between the two instruments sounds almost operatic."。

Carl Maria von Weber (1766-1826) Grand duo concertant in E flat major op.48
With this 3-movement piece for clarinet and piano, the two protagonists are allowed to enchant their audience. The clarinet trumps right at the beginning with great intensity. Sabine Meyer creates the first movement, Allegro con Fuoco, in a fiery, urgent, and pointed manner, before engaging in an interplay with Kit Armstrong and his piano. The dialogue between the two instruments sounds almost operatic. The second movement, Andante con moto, begins pathetically with alternating calls and answers.
Melodious passages fly back and forth quickly and violently, with the piano accompanying at times almost like strings. This is followed by a short piano solo, brilliantly arranged by Armstrong. The clarinet joins in almost vocally. The rondo finale begins with virtuosity, deep feelings, delicate rhythms, and fast runs. Finally, it flows into a gentle feeling of grace and lightness.
